Espinal, Santiago homers in Blue Jays' 8-0 win over Royals
The Toronto Blue Jays continued their hot hitting on Tuesday night, crushing the Kansas City Royals 8-0 behind a home run from Santiago Espinal.
Espinal's solo shot in the third inning gave the Blue Jays a 2-0 lead, and they added three more runs in the fourth on a Teoscar Hernandez double. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Bo Bichette also drove in runs for Toronto.
Blue Jays starter Kevin Gausman was dominant on the mound, allowing just two hits and two walks over six scoreless innings. He struck out eight Royals batters.
The win was the Blue Jays' fourth in a row, and they are now 36-32 on the season. The Royals, meanwhile, have lost four straight and are 27-40.
The two teams will face off again on Wednesday night in Kansas City.
