Nerlens Noel Signs 10-Day Contract with Brooklyn Nets
Former All-Defensive Team Member Returns to NBA Action
After months on the sidelines, Nerlens Noel is back in the NBA.
The Brooklyn Nets have signed Noel to a 10-day contract, his agent George Langberg told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski on Saturday.
Noel, a 6-foot-11 center, began the 2022-23 season with the Detroit Pistons but was waived in November. He has not played in an NBA game since December 12.
The 29-year-old Noel is a former All-Defensive Team member known for his shot-blocking and rebounding abilities. He has career averages of 7.7 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 1.7 blocks per game.
The Nets are hoping that Noel can provide some much-needed depth in the frontcourt. They are currently without starting center Nicolas Claxton, who is out with a hamstring injury.
Noel is expected to make his Nets debut on Sunday against the Houston Rockets.
