Olivier Létang (LOSC): "Lisandru Olmeta Not Yet Ready"
Lille Still Searching for First-Choice Goalkeeper
Lille president Olivier Létang has admitted that the club is still looking for a first-choice goalkeeper, despite the presence of Lisandru Olmeta.
Olmeta, 25, has been with Lille since 2020, but has yet to establish himself as the undisputed number one.
Létang: Olmeta Needs More Time
Létang said: "Lisandru is a good goalkeeper, but he is still young and needs more time to develop."
"We are looking for a goalkeeper who can come in and be our number one straight away."
- Lille have been linked with a number of goalkeepers, including Alban Lafont (Nantes) and Mattia Perin (Juventus).
- The club is expected to make a decision on a new goalkeeper before the start of the 2023/24 season.
Lille finished eighth in Ligue 1 last season and will be hoping to challenge for a European place in 2023/24.
Conclusion
The search for a new goalkeeper is a key priority for Lille as they look to build a team capable of challenging for major honors.
Olmeta may yet prove to be the long-term solution, but for now, Lille are right to explore other options.
